About The Position

This role is responsible for establishing and completing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans for the plant's Blow Mold equipment. The technician will also perform additional mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance and repairs on other plant equipment. Participation in projects involving mechanical, electrical, PLC/controls, pneumatic, hydraulic, and welding is also expected.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • 5+ years of prior facilities, coordination and industrial maintenance experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics.
  • Excellent analytical and reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills required.
  • Basic reading and communication skills in English is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in construction, electrical or mechanical engineering or business preferred.
  • Journeyman Certification a plus.
  • Hands-on mechanical experience with blow molding equipment a plus.
  • Knowledge of metal stamping equipment, powder coat.
  • Knowledge of 480v 3phase electric, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Knowledge of chiller and tower systems and pumps and repairs.
  • Knowledge of air compressor systems and preventive maintenance of systems.
  • Knowledge of robotics, roll forming and custom bending equipment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is highly desired.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on blow molding machines, related equipment and facilities.
  • Diagnose and fix equipment failures in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-related issues.
  • Perform general fabrication during repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Inspect machinery for wear, damage, leaks, and abnormal operating conditions.
  • Use electrical and mechanical schematics, manuals, and technical documentation to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Repair or replace motors, sensors, valves, cylinders, pumps, bearings, belts, hoses, and other components.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Complete preventive maintenance inspections and accurately document maintenance activities.
  • Respond quickly to production calls and communicate equipment issues to Production and Maintenance leadership.
  • Maintain spare parts, tools, and maintenance areas in an organized condition.
  • Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and plant policies.
  • Support continuous improvement and root-cause analysis to reduce recurring equipment failures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S principles.
  • Work with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to resolve equipment and process issues.
  • Assist with installation, modification, and improvement of manufacturing equipment.
