About The Position

American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are searching for a Maintenance Technician for our Simpsonville, SC. This position will report to Maintenance Manager. The schedule pattern consists of four 12-Hour shifts who work two days in a row, get two days off and then work another three days, which results in only 14 working days each month! This schedule gives you a 3-day weekend every other week!

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
Eligible to work in the United States of America.
Pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screen & Authorize Background Check.
Must be able to work a 12-Hour Shift.
Prior Maintenance Technician experience required.
Must be able to read, write and speak English.
Knowledge of basic math skills.
Must demonstrate good judgment and decision-making ability.
Must possess interpersonal skills and be able to communicate on all levels.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Basic ability in welding; brazing; soldering, or silver brazing; refrigeration repair; machine shop training; fabrication in plastic; electronic repair; and/or mechanical engine repair, transmission repair, robotics.

Nice To Haves

Injection molding experience a plus.
Fork truck license, Man lift certificate, and crane operation required (will train to our specifics).

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and read electrical prints.
Troubleshoot and debug hydraulic circuits, read machine schematics and repair.
Troubleshoot and debug pneumatic circuits, read machine schematics and repair.
Perform general maintenance, troubleshooting, debugging, and repair on injection-molding machines.
Execute lock out/tag out procedures as required on all Injection and related equipment.
Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions to prevent the occurrence of any downtime that can be avoided with proper preventative, predictive or continuous improvement ideas.
Work with equipment suppliers to determine root cause of equipment failures and implement a permanent solution.
Maintain Plant Facility and associated equipment.
Perform daily checks of all injection molding equipment as outlined on the preventive maintenance schedule.
Own and maintain the required basic set of tools needed to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
