About The Position

SWD Inc. opened for business in March 1980, initially offering black oxiding, cleaning, and pickling operations. The company expanded to include passivating stainless steel and acquired Fastener Sorting Corporation in 1981. Today, SWD Inc. is a recognized leader in Metal Finishing and Fastener Sorting, employing over 200 individuals across three shifts in its 250,000 sq. ft. facility located in Addison, Illinois. SWD is a Drug-Free workplace, and all job offers are contingent on successful completion of a Background Check, Drug Screen, and Pre-Employment Physical. SWD Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician for a 2nd shift position, working from 3pm-11pm. Compensation for this role ranges from $18.75/hr to $35.00/hr, with the final rate dependent on experience and to be discussed during an in-person interview.

Requirements

GED or High School Diploma
Ability to lift 40 lbs
Prior technical maintenance experience
Must be available to work occasional weekends

Nice To Haves

Manufacturing experience
Forklift experience

Responsibilities

Show ability to fabricate or modify equipment using hand tools, such as saws, drills, and grinders.
Detect unusual sounds from machines indicating malfunctions.
Install piping systems in pvc stainless steel, and/or iron pipe.
Install machinery and equipment according to specifications.
Repair and maintain centrifugal and pneumatic pumps.
Show ability to weld metal parts with either tig or arc.
Complete appropriate documents and necessary paperwork.
Comply with all SWD Inc. safety rules and regulations.
Be aware of SWD Inc. company policy and procedures, including the quality system as defined by QS-9000 and ISO-14001 and outlined in the SWD Inc.’s quality and environmental systems policy and procedure manuals.
Troubleshoot minor electrical problems (blown fuses, shorts, etc.)
