About The Position

In this role, you will be responsible for installing and programming electrical equipment. You will draw schematics to indicate where the wiring and components are installed, then measure, cut, and install wiring and conduit systems according to specifications. The position requires comfort in interpreting PLC ladder logic programs, as automation is used for some industrial processes. Other tasks include performing preventative maintenance inspections and PFC tests. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and replace mechanical, electrical, PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on all plant equipment and facilities. The technician will use their knowledge to increase productivity, decrease downtime and waste, and ensure equipment runs at available capacity and speed. The position requires adherence to safety and company policies, including lock-out tag-out procedures, and a commitment to a clean and safe workplace.

Requirements

  • 2+ Years experience successfully troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with repairing and maintaining mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC systems and industrial equipment.
  • Be passionate about maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Ability to work any shift, overtime, and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, stoop, and bend, while performing day-to-day duties in a non-air-conditioned environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Electrician journeyman license
  • Several years of professional electrician experience
  • Technical degree and/or comparable experience in successfully troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and equipment; particularly within the corrugated or packaging industry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of maintenance tasks to diagnose, repair, rebuild, replace mechanical, electrical, PLC, hydraulic and pneumatic systems on all plant equipment and facilities.
  • Use maintenance knowledge to increase productivity, decrease downtime and waste.
  • Measure, cut, and install wiring and conduit systems.
  • Install and program electrical equipment.
  • Follow electrical blueprints and schematics.
  • Troubleshoot or replace electrical components as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Interpret PLC ladder logic programs.
  • Follow local, state, and national electric codes.
  • Maximize the utilization of equipment by maintaining the machinery to run at available capacity and speed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Work with a sense of urgency to respond to machine downtime events.
  • Complete in-house training programs to develop equipment specific maintenance skills.
  • Attend external training that may require occasional overnight travel.
  • Follow all safety and company policies that include lock-out tag-out procedures.
  • Report to work on time.
