About The Position

The Crescent Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance duties committed to meeting all customer and people needs. This role ensures operations align with the Crescent Way - 3 P's: Purpose, Process, People, while building on a culture of Doing it Right, Doing it Safe, and Doing it Well. The technician will provide technical expertise, troubleshoot equipment, and contribute to training other personnel. They are expected to maintain a safe and organized work environment, improve productivity through technology and process improvements, and ensure the quality of products by maintaining equipment properly. The role also involves managing costs for equipment, spare parts, and services, and making sound decisions regarding repairs and replacements.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to maintain production equipment in a safe manner.
  • Ability to improve productivity through idea and implementation of ideas.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Able to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without accommodation.
  • Must be a US Citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the US on an unrestricted basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced in packaging systems maintenance.
  • Experienced with Conveyor Drives and Motors.
  • Experienced with Printers and Label applicators.
  • Basic Troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance duties to meet customer and people needs.
  • Ensure operations align with the Crescent Way (Purpose, Process, People).
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to the Crescent Safety Playbook.
  • Engage in the Safety Observation process.
  • Complete maintenance tasks on time and correctly.
  • Ensure all equipment is operating safely and maintenance work is completed safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, leaving areas better than found.
  • Seek out and remove risks created by equipment.
  • Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Assist in training for personnel who interact with or operate equipment.
  • Treat people with respect and communicate professionally.
  • Accept direction and delegation from leaders.
  • Encourage ownership and build relationships with other key personnel.
  • Look for new uses of technology and equipment to improve flexibility and productivity.
  • Participate in and ensure setups are done correctly, safely, and on time.
  • Complete all Preventive Maintenance (PMs) on time.
  • Identify and create Continuous Improvement ideas.
  • Communicate issues and opportunities to the Maintenance Leader.
  • Ensure all equipment operates in a manner that produces quality product.
  • Communicate any suspected quality issues to the appropriate person.
  • Participate in root cause analysis on quality issues and contribute to corrective action development.
  • Provide consultation on new builds to ensure "quality at the source" design.
  • Ensure completion of all required PMs on Crescent and customer-owned equipment.
  • Provide real-time support to customer trials, samples, and visits.
  • Specify, source, and select cost-effective equipment, spare parts, and services.
  • Make good decisions on repairing or replacing parts and equipment.
  • Maintain a personal level of productivity.
  • Adhere to cultural competencies: Do It Right, Do It Safe, Do It Well.
