About The Position

Greenwood Care, a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility, in Evanston, IL, Seeks a Maintenance Technician. This is a Full Time Opportunity, with an Hourly Rate of $19.50, Plus Benefits. The Schedule is Wednesday - Sunday, from 9am-5pm. The Role will involve On Call Responsibilities. This is a Union Position. Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
• At least one or more years of general maintenance, building operations and/or housekeeping experience
• Understanding of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) building systems.
• Skills in minor carpentry, painting, patching drywall, and changing light fixtures
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, trash disposal, lawn care, and maintaining property curb appeal
• Ability to safely use power tools
• Good communication skills a must
• Able to work well independently

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a residential health care setting a plus

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot any emergencies or urgent repairs
• Make all necessary repairs as needed
• Complete daily work orders
• Ensure the proper maintenance of electricity, plumbing and all equipment
• Inspect and repair all damages to building surfaces, painting as necessary
• Check and replace filters
• Install appliances and equipment
• Work indoors and outdoors as needed
• Adhere to quality standards of health and safety regulations
• Will be on call occasionally
