About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing various types of maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all properties, including group homes, supported living facilities, offices, and thrift store locations. This role involves general maintenance in both residential and commercial settings, reporting issues to the Maintenance Supervisor, assisting with the vehicle fleet, and conducting inspections of physical locations and systems. The technician must also maintain patient confidentiality, work conductively with others, and represent the company professionally.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Complete the employee application process, which includes completing the application, reference checks, interview, and Cornerstone training.
  • Have experience in performing general maintenance in both residential and commercial settings.
  • Ability to work under little to no supervision and follow directions.
  • Perform work that is consistent within the scope of the mission, policies, and procedures of Cornerstone Support Services.
  • Ability to represent Cornerstone Support Services in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work in a physical environment involves standing, walking, lifting while using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to work conductively with other employees and vendors, both local and at remote locations.
  • Ability to drive company vehicles obeying all traffic laws and following defensive driving practices.
  • Ability to travel as needed to all Cornerstone Support Services locations.
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various types of maintenance, repair and upkeep of all properties including all group homes, supported living facilities, offices, and thrift store locations.
  • Report apparent issues of physical properties such as lawn maintenance and pest control to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Assist with management of vehicle fleet as needed.
  • When appropriate sells existing vehicles and purchases new vehicles.
  • Assists with moving furniture and equipment as needed at CSS locations.
  • Assists with conducting inspections of physical locations, fire suppression, HVAC, and electrical systems as needed.
  • Keeps track of time spent at various locations.
  • Able to answer questions about the services of Cornerstone Support Services.
  • Know when to seek professional, certified contractors for repairs requiring licensed professionals.
  • Able to fill in as On-Call Response after hours when needed.
  • Able to spot safety related issues independently and correct.
  • Keep supervisor notified of repair process and timeline for completion.
  • Maintain clean and tidy workspaces.
  • Assist in other departments as needed.

  • Practices good communication.
  • Provides a safe work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
