Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED

Nice To Haves

  • Apprenticeship
  • 5 years Maintenance/engineering in hospital setting
  • 2 years electrical experience
  • 3 years mechanical system maintenance experience
  • 3 years carpentry/maintenance experience

Responsibilities

  • Performs skilled work in repairing, replacing, modifying, installing or otherwise improving equipment and buildings.
  • Knows how to use all hand tools and power tools.
  • Diagnoses mechanical problems and makes repairs.
  • Participates in hospital PM program.
  • Make all required PM checks on all assigned equipment and lubricates as assigned.
  • Makes daily rounds through the hospital looking for any lights out or any item needed repairing.
  • Checks and operates energy management system, HVAC system, chillers, and boilers for the facility. This includes water treatment and pump repair.
  • Performs some troubleshooting of refrigeration system using A/C gauges and test equipment.
  • Able to troubleshoot small electrical problems and mechanical problems.
  • Performs painting, carpentry, and plumbing work to include simple re-piping and repair work.
  • Checks and operates emergency generator as needed.
  • Rebuilds air compressor, vacuum, and pumps as needed.
