Hornig Companies seeks a full-time Multi-site Maintenance Technician to respond to work orders at a multi-site environment in SW Minneapolis and the surrounding areas. Requirements

  • Mechanical & plumbing aptitude
  • Specials Boiler’s License/ ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Ability and willingness to learn
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • Valid Driver’s License and meet car insurance requirements
  • Ability to work rotating on-call schedule
  • Ability to stand, lift and bend for up to 8 hours (with breaks) in hot/cold and wet environments
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to operate applicable phone applications for work orders, time allocation and information look-up

Nice To Haves

  • Multi-housing experience is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, trouble-shoot and hands on repair of apartment maintenance issues like: Plumbing issues such as leaking faucets, toilets and other fixtures
  • Repair or replace blinds, closet doors
  • Low risk electrical repair or replacement of lighting, ceiling fans, smoke detectors
  • Minor sheetrock repair and repair of building construction such as broken windows and locks
  • Minor caulking of tubs and sinks
  • Minor appliance repair
  • Provide expertise on building repair, concentrating on preventing future maintenance concerns in historical and aging buildings
  • Communicate with residents regarding repairs in a caring, compassionate manner that upholds Hornig Companies customer service reputation as well as Fair Housing guidelines
