About The Position

This position is responsible for Operations and Maintenance of Alabama Power owned facilities and assets. Responsibilities will include the repair and preventive maintenance for building infrastructure, grounds, access control systems, HVAC (Chillers), mechanical, plumbing, electrical, etc. needed to provide safe and productive work environments. This technician will need to be self-motivated and be able to operate and work within the most critical areas and operate equipment that serves these areas. This job is based out of our Phenix City, Alabama office in the Southeast division.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Active State of Alabama HVAC Contractors License and/or Active Alabama Electrical Contractors License Required
• General experience & knowledge in HVAC & Controls, Electrical, and/Plumbing.
• Universal Freon license
• Vast knowledge of the following: Commercial /industrial electrical maintenance, repair, and installation
• Vast knowledge of the following: Electronic and pneumatic controls, equipment and systems maintenance, repair, and installation
• Vast knowledge of the following: Hydraulic equipment and systems maintenance, repair, and installation
• Vast knowledge of the following: HVAC systems maintenance, repair, and installation of Chillers & HVAC equipment
• Knowledge of Codes, i.e., NEC, OSHA, Building and Plumbing
• NERC CIP Certification Required and contingent for the position within first 60 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, modify and install equipment and systems to maintain a comfortable environment for customers.
• Perform general inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with national/local codes and regulations, to provide a safe, reliable work environment.
• Maintain/clean equipment rooms, related equipment, and panels.
• Maintain facility systems, HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing. (Chillers, Pumps etc…)
