About The Position

Reporting to the Sr. Coordinator, Maintenance, the Maintenance Technician, Pipefitter will support the Lloydminster Thermal Conventional Heavy Oil Assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services that ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. You will work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to preventative and routine maintenance activities as well as priority emergent work.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Journeyperson Pipefitter, Gas fitter, Heavy duty or industrial mechanic certification.
  • Minimum 8 years’ Experience with oil & gas, thermal or related facility operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and high-quality workmanship.
  • Must maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines.

  • Previous supervisory and/or project management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work safely and efficiently in compliance with Cenovus policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise work execution to ensure compliance with Cenovus policies, procedures, regulatory compliance and industry best practices.
  • Execute Line of Defense (LOD) assurance activities such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hazard identification, and behavior-based safety audits.
  • Support emergent and high-priority (P1) maintenance work to ensure asset reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Manage work orders including documentation, close-out, follow-up, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Planning and Scheduling to provide job updates, support job package development, and ensure material and equipment readiness.
  • Maintain effective material management, tool organization, and housekeeping standards.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary maintenance team while working independently with minimal supervision.
