About The Position

WeatherTech Direct is seeking a well-qualified Maintenance Technician- Level 2 to perform maintenance and repairs on machines used on the Injection Molding and Thermoforming production process. The base hourly rate of pay starts at $28 per hour or more, depending on experience. Additional compensation: $1.00 per hour 2nd shift differential, $1.50 per hour 3rd shift differential.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or equivalent in Industrial Maintenance Technology and/or the equivalent with demonstrated experience in the Industrial Maintenance field.
  • Current Level 1 Maintenance Technician that has continued on with their education and has Certificate of Completions in the following courses with a grade C or better (curriculum derived from the Joliet Junior College) and/or equivalent job experience: EEAS 113: Industrial Controls 2, IMT 123: Maintenance Management, TMT 102: Technical Mathematics, EEAS 223 - Industrial Circuits-Advanced Programmable Controllers, EEAS 225 - Automated Systems, EEAS 240 - Motors and Drives
  • 5 plus years of related experience
  • Basic math, measuring, and computer skills required
  • Team player with a good attitude and strong work ethic; must be dependable with excellent attendance
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand verbal and written work orders/instructions in English
  • Demonstrate knowledge of performing maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and/or robotics systems
  • Demonstrate knowledge of manufacturing processes such as Plastic Injection Molding, Thermoforming, and Automation
  • Ability to read machinery manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations as they pertain to manufacturing and/or completion of OSHA 10 Hours training course
  • High degree of attention and detail required to prevent accidents, injuries, and quality issues
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Operate various hand and power tools to perform maintenance work and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and/or robotics components efficiently and in order of priority
  • Carry out assigned Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks
  • Communicate with prior/oncoming shifts regarding any maintenance priorities and status updates
  • Conduct daily maintenance checks and complete daily maintenance tasks
  • Operate a computer to maintain data on maintenance and completed repairs
  • Train new and existing team members on different functions of the work area to ensure all can perform all tasks properly; share knowledge and best practices to help aid efficiency and productivity
  • Perform all job functions in compliance with safety guidelines and company policies/procedures
  • Work overtime as business demands
  • Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition while cleaning and maintaining equipment as needed
  • Communicate clearly and work as part of a team
  • Perform other duties as assigned
