About The Position

Lunds & Byerlys Mitchell Road is currently hiring for a self-directed and outgoing Maintenance Technician! This position works a full-time schedule and earns a competitive wage. We operate 24 hours/day and 365 days/year. For this position we are looking for someone with availability around the hours of 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
One or more years' experience with packaging and food manufacturing equipment and repairs
Solid mechanical, electrical, and repair troubleshooting abilities and skills, including PLC
A service-oriented team member with a high energy, positive and friendly demeanor
Ability to respond to continually changing priorities and coordinate multiple projects
Ability to work safely in a fast-paced, food manufacturing environment
Ability to comply with USDA, FDA, OSHA, AIB and all other regulatory agencies while complying with good manufacturing practices
Computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Strong customer service, interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English

Nice To Haves

Completion of two-year technical degree or equivalent knowledge

Responsibilities

Performing routine and non-routine types of preventive and ongoing maintenance (this includes repairs in the areas of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or machine servicing).
Follow appropriate equipment/tool repair and maintenance guidelines to assure product quality, availability and freshness according to department standards.
Troubleshoot equipment repair issues and consult with outside vendors or internal staff to ensure problem resolution.
Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
Perform equipment and building preventative maintenance following established schedule.
Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area ensuring workspace and storage areas are free from debris and clutter.
Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.
