About The Position

Porte is seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Technician Lead to support the daily operations of our Calgary portfolio, which includes commercial, industrial, and residential properties. This role provides support across both office and field operations, stepping in wherever additional assistance is needed. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be practical, solutions-focused, and confident managing the diverse operational and maintenance requirements of a varied property portfolio. We are looking for a dependable and motivated professional who takes pride in maintaining high property standards and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a maintenance, operations, or supervisory role
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, renovations, and general building maintenance.
  • Knowledge and experience working within commercial and residential property management environments.
  • Understanding of Alberta’s Residential Tenancies Act (RTA).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract
  • Must have a reliable vehicle and valid insurance
  • Ability to respond to occasional after-hours emergencies if required
  • Satisfactory completion of a criminal record check

  • Experience overseeing commercial, industrial, residential, and/or park properties preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with unit renovations, two-person jobs, and special projects at various sites
  • Help gather and coordinate vendor quotes
  • Supervise contractors and vendors on-site
  • Assist with reports, inspections, and operational follow-up
  • Coordinate and assist with preventative maintenance, repairs, and general facility upkeep
  • Manage maintenance requests, prioritize work orders, and support timely completion
  • Oversee building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general repairs
  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency
  • Assist with grounds maintenance and seasonal property needs
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and company policies
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate regularly with the Operations Manager
  • Work collaboratively with property management teams, tenants, contractors, and vendors
  • Other duties as required from time to time
