About The Position

The Schebler Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician – Laser Systems to join our team in Bettendorf. In this role, you will keep our CNC laser cutting systems running, along with the rest of our production and facility equipment. You will work closely with the maintenance team and with production to keep our equipment safe, reliable, and available.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience
  • Hands-on experience maintaining CNC laser cutting machines (CO2, fiber, or disk). Experience with any manufacturer is acceptable, including Bystronic, Trumpf, Amada, Mazak, or Mitsubishi
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, Beckhoff, Mitsubishi, or proprietary laser machine controls
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize your own day
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds and move routinely throughout the shop

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance preferred, or equivalent experience
  • PLC experience and HVAC background preferred
  • Formal training or manufacturer certification on laser cutting equipment preferred
  • If you have strong industrial maintenance experience on other automated fabrication equipment, such as CNC, plasma, waterjet, or press brake, we are willing to train the right person on our laser systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on CNC laser cutting systems, including lubrication, alignments, inspections, and calibration
  • Inspect, clean, align, and replace laser optics and beam delivery components, including lenses, mirrors, and nozzles
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues involving motors, drives, power supplies, PLCs, sensors, and control circuits
  • Troubleshoot CNC machine controls and automated material handling, including reading ladder logic and resolving I/O issues
  • Repair mechanical components including bearings, ball screws, linear guides, gearboxes, and pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Provide scheduled, emergency, and unscheduled repairs across production equipment and plant facilities
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and work orders
  • Perform plumbing and carpentry maintenance and simple machinist work as needed
  • Follow all safety regulations, including laser safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), arc flash awareness, and machine guarding requirements
