About The Position

The Groundskeeper plays a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and health of outdoor spaces. This position involves performing various landscaping and maintenance tasks to ensure that gardens, lawns, and other landscaped areas are kept in pristine condition. The ideal candidate will have a passion for outdoor work and a keen eye for detail, contributing to the overall beauty and functionality of the grounds.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance practices, including lawn care techniques.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to groundskeeping tasks.
Ability to irrigate effectively and understand the watering needs of different plants.
Attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and order in outdoor spaces.
Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods while working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Good communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and respond to any specific landscaping requests or concerns.
Must be able to work inside and outside in all weather conditions including, but not limited to rain, heat, and, wind.
Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights of minimum sixty-five (65) pounds.
Pass a background check, which includes a drug screening and driving record (must have a clean driving record and a valid driver's license).

Responsibilities

Maintain all aspects of landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns.
Perform garden care tasks such as planting, weeding, and mulching to enhance the visual appeal of flower beds and gardens.
Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various grounds keeping tasks.
Irrigate plants and lawns as needed to ensure proper hydration and growth.
Monitor the health of plants and lawns, identifying any issues such as pests or diseases that may require attention.
Assist with seasonal preparations, including leaf removal and mulch replacement.
Maintain equipment used in grounds keeping to ensure it is safe and functional.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
