About The Position

The Junior Maintenance Technician supports the maintenance team by performing basic repairs, routine inspections, and preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facility systems. This entry-level role is ideal for someone beginning their career in maintenance and looking to develop technical skills under the guidance of senior technicians.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED (technical training or certification is a plus).
Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems.
Ability to use common tools and equipment for maintenance tasks.
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to lift moderate weights, stand for long periods, and work in varying environments.

Nice To Haves

Basic knowledge of HVAC, motors, pumps, or electrical circuits.
Experience with CMMS or maintenance management software.
Ability to read simple diagrams or equipment manuals.

Responsibilities

Assist in performing routine maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and facility systems.
Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and report them to senior staff.
Perform basic repairs such as replacing parts, lubricating equipment, and tightening components.
Support preventive maintenance tasks according to schedules and checklists.
Help maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory records.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment safely.
Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Assist senior technicians on complex installations or repairs.
Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
