About The Position

The Maintenance Technician IV (Machinist) manufactures, modifies, and repairs mechanical parts used in plant production equipment. The role produces replacement and custom components—including rolls, shafts, bushings, brackets, and other parts—to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability. It also supports Maintenance Technicians with floor calls, preventive maintenance, and repairs when machining assistance is needed. The position promotes continuous, efficient, and safe operations in compliance with food-safety requirements and Customer and Company expectations. The technician operates manual machining equipment, measures and inspects parts to maintain required fits and tolerances, reverse engineers parts when drawings are unavailable, and maintains a clean, organized, and safe machine shop. The role documents parts and materials, contributes recommendations to shift action plans and process improvements, attends applicable meetings and training, escalates issues, performs Lock-Out-Tag-Out when necessary, and follows food-safety and safety procedures. The incumbent must be capable of performing Maintenance Technician I, II, and III duties and may train or mentor junior technicians. The position is based in a manufacturing facility on the production floor. Work involves frequent exposure to wet, dusty, humid, hot, or cold conditions; proximity to moving mechanical parts; and moderate noise that may fluctuate. Physical requirements include frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting up to 75 pounds, standing for up to eight hours with breaks, and performing a range of movement and vision-related tasks. Occasional work may involve high-temperature areas, heights more than two feet from the ground, and strong magnetics. Starting pay is $40.00 per hour. A shift differential is offered for second- and third-shift opportunities. Individual base pay depends on work location and factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive based on company and individual performance. Full-time employees are offered health, dental, 401(k), and wellness benefits beginning on the 90th day of employment.
