About The Position

RRD is a leading global provider of marketing, packaging, print, and supply chain solutions. This role provides maintenance support and repairs to production machinery, computer systems, and the facility for a 24/7 manufacturing operation. The Electro-Mechanical Industrial Maintenance Technician 3 - Night Shift position requires troubleshooting and maintenance of high-speed automated industrial machinery. The primary functions include providing production support, troubleshooting technical problems, and performing corrective and preventive maintenance to maximize throughput and efficiency. This role also performs the duties of a Maintenance Technician 2 as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years related electro-mechanical experience.
  • Extensive hands-on experience and detailed knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical machines and systems.
  • Extensive hands-on experience and detailed knowledge of computers hardware and software, specifically industrial controls and related I/O’s.
  • Able to identify and perform Level A, B, & C equipment preventive maintenance.
  • Able to diagnose equipment faults and malfunctions.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations/requirements.
  • Able to read and understand schematics/blueprints.
  • Strong Computer literacy: Windows, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet software.
  • Must demonstrate good time management skills.
  • Plans and organizes daily work flow.
  • Ability to retain knowledge of procedures and processes and understand complex instructions and multi-step procedures.
  • Willingness to attend training classes to learn or enhance skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to organize work, people and materials.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports.
  • Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate area, circumference, volume, etc.
  • Service-oriented personality.
  • Ability to work independently on nights and weekend shifts.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour rotating work schedule with call-in and overtime duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree, technical certification, or equivalent preferred.
  • Powered Industrial Truck Certification preferred.
  • Experience with Inventory Software, Manufacturing Software, and Order Processing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Respond in a timely manner to all maintenance requests on the production floor.
  • Train production technicians in the proper set-up and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Provide training and assistance to production technicians to help maximize production output and minimize downtime.
  • Effectively diagnose mechanical, electrical, network, and computer hardware/software issues in assigned areas.
  • Make timely and accurate repairs during production.
  • Utilize illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Inspect machinery for potential problems on a daily basis.
  • Document problems and schedule work/repairs as appropriate.
  • Respond to all assigned maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) activities in accordance with the preventive maintenance plan and record these activities.
  • Perform inventory control of parts and equipment used from inventory and inform the Supervisor.
  • Record maintenance activities using the proper computer application or paperwork.
  • Provide training and coaching to new maintenance technicians and inspect their work.
  • Perform housekeeping duties required of maintenance staff, including work area and machine clean-up.
  • Other duties as assigned.
