About The Position

The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, performing timely repairs, and ensuring equipment is returned to full operational capacity. This role involves conducting routine maintenance inspections, assisting the Department Manager with project planning, and procuring necessary spare parts. The technician will also schedule and document all maintenance activities in the CMMS, assist in developing department procedures, and respond to emergency calls as needed. Additionally, the role supports onboarding and training of new employees, maintains production and quality records, and ensures a clean and organized workspace. Other duties may be assigned to support team, departmental, and organizational goals.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of hands-on experience as a Maintenance Technician in an injection molding manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in repair and fabrication techniques, with a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Ability to interpret job layouts, identify materials, and effectively select and utilize appropriate tools and resources.
  • Forklift experience; must be willing and able to obtain certification.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with a variety of tools and materials applicable to the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialized trade knowledge through trade or vocational school.
  • Associate degree in Electronics, Automation Programming, etc. or completion of a State Indentured Apprenticeship Program.
  • Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general facility maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office; experience with JDE or similar ERP software.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions effectively and efficiently.
  • Conduct timely repairs and ensure equipment is returned to full operational capacity.
  • Perform routine maintenance inspections on all production and service equipment while maintaining accurate and up-to-date inspection records.
  • Assist the Department Manager in planning and managing maintenance projects.
  • Identify, research, and procure necessary spare parts to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Schedule and document all maintenance activities, both corrective and preventative, within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Assist in developing and maintaining department procedures and standard work instructions.
  • Respond promptly to weekend and emergency calls as per the established on-call policy.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new employees on equipment operation and standard work procedures as directed.
  • Maintain accurate production records and quality inspection reports, inspect parts and components for defects and compliance to quality standards, and promptly report quality issues to the appropriate team members.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in high-traffic areas to minimize trips, fall, and collision hazards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of team, departmental, and organizational goals.
