About The Position

Coordinate activities of lower-level Maintenance Technicians including monitoring and motivation of work performance, coaching on troubleshooting techniques, identification of training opportunities, and assistance on implementation of individual training and development plans. Work with Maintenance Manager and Sr Maintenance Manager when higher levels of coaching and/or discipline are required. Perform maintenance technician duties including troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production and facility equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a fast paced environment
  • Experience with the maintenance of food processing equipment desired
  • Experience with the enforcement of personal protective equipment requirements
  • Experience with Lockout/Tag out procedures
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong understanding of mechanical repairs, drives, motors, pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Basic understanding of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Ability to prioritize work orders
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience desired
  • Project management experience helpful
  • Basic/advanced electrical experience helpful
  • Understanding of ammonia refrigeration systems helpful

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities of Maintenance technicians
  • Assist in the coaching and development of the technicians
  • Distribute emergency work orders as they are requested
  • Assist Maintenance Manager as required
  • Back-up for Maintenance Manager
  • Identify opportunities for improving production efficiency and effectiveness
  • Work with production, engineering, vendors and others to implement improvements through equipment modifications, preventive maintenance and procedural changes
  • Enhance plant safety by following safe work practices and by identifying and correcting unsafe conditions
  • Enhance product quality and safety by following GMPs and by identifying and correcting equipment deficiencies
  • Perform mechanic tasks including, but not limited to: Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities
  • Continually inspect the manufacturing area for mechanical & electrical issues
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
