Maintenance Technician III (Essex House & The Merrick)
About The Position
The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for all general apartment and facilities maintenance functions in order to maintain and preserve the Neighborhood and to provide a quality living environment for our Neighbors. This role focuses on customer service, ensuring Neighbors feel at HOME and proud to live in the community. The technician is responsible for the timely completion of apartment turnovers, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical systems, scheduling outside vendors, performing administrative support duties, and providing support and leadership to the Maintenance team.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Minimum three certificates from related institutions reflecting completion of maintenance related courses (e.g., BOMA, IREM, vocational programs).
- Minimum of three to four years experience and/or training in apartment maintenance.
- Minimum of one year supervisory experience, if applicable.
- Ability to speak, communicate, read, write and understand English.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Understanding of building materials and tools.
- Requires standing, climbing, balancing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, hearing, and visual acuity.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Responsibilities
- Perform all general apartment and facilities maintenance functions.
- Maintain and preserve the Neighborhood to provide a quality living environment.
- Ensure Neighbors feel at HOME, well-cared for, and proud to live in the community.
- Complete all phases of apartment turnovers.
- Troubleshoot and repair major and minor mechanical systems.
- Schedule outside vendors.
- Perform administrative support duties for maintenance-related activities.
- Provide support and leadership to the Maintenance team.
- Be available for on-call services.
