About The Position

The Maintenance Technician III will perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of complex automated warehouse and distribution systems. This role requires extensive technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, with particular emphasis on high-speed sortation equipment, conveyor systems, and automated storage and retrieval systems. The Technician III will demonstrate advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on sophisticated industrial equipment while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of industrial maintenance experience with automated systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, motor controls, and automated material handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E electrical safety standards and industrial safety practices.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Hot work permit certification
  • Experience with Warehouse Control Systems and HMI interfaces
  • Background in automated distribution or warehouse operations
  • Certification in electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance
  • Ability to work at variable heights using proper PPE
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in various positions (standing, kneeling, climbing)

Responsibilities

  • Identify, diagnose, and repair complex mechanical and electrical failures, including error/fault codes on industrial equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to the Input/Output level, including processor fault identification
  • Service and repair Motor Control Panels, including motor starters, overloads, relays, switches, circuit breakers, and fuses
  • Install, troubleshooting, and repair sensors, photo eyes, proximity switches, encoders, bar code readers, dimensions, and Variable Frequency Drives
  • Install, wire, and repair dual voltage (480VAC/208VAC) 3-phase motors with brakes and speed reducers
  • Diagnose and repair pneumatic systems including compressors, valves, actuators, cylinders, and vacuum components
  • Service hydraulic systems including pumps, valves, cylinders, and associated components
  • Perform fabrication work including cutting, drilling, and welding while following hot work safety procedures
  • Troubleshoot and repair multiple conveyor systems (belted, roller, MDR, powered curve, spiral) and high-speed sortation equipment (sliding shoe, cross-belt, pocket sorters, tilt trays)
  • Navigate Warehouse Control Systems and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) for system diagnostics and control
  • Troubleshoot servo motor controls, in-motion scales, Print and Apply systems, and Automatic Storage Retrieval Systems (ASRS)
  • Work safely with electrical systems (12VDC to 600VAC) following NFPA 70E standards using multimeter and diagnostic equipment
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for troubleshooting and repair applications
