About The Position

This full-time Maintenance Technician III position is within the Facilities Department of Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center. The role involves performing facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards, utilizing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for documentation. The technician will maintain, repair, and conduct complex troubleshooting on a wide range of mechanical equipment, patient care equipment, and mechanical/electrical systems with minimal guidance. General maintenance functions such as grounds maintenance, carpentry, painting, and snow removal are also part of the role. The position requires managing responses and repairs during emergencies and responding to building occupant requests. Requirements

  • Certification and/or additional training in a skill/trade/equipment/system that is applicable to the job needs and the specific location.
  • Driver's license required.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 4 or more Years of Experience in equipment maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills such as CMMS, building automation system, Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Documents through use of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Maintains, repairs, and conducts complex troubleshooting on mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, heat exchangers, controls, etc. with very minimal to no assistance/guidance and both within and outside normal operating procedures.
  • Maintains, repairs, and conducts complex troubleshooting on patient care equipment such as beds, wheelchairs, carts, tables, etc. where not maintained by other departments.
  • Maintains, repairs, and conduct complex troubleshooting mechanical/electrical systems such as pneumatic tube, HVAC, refrigerators/freezers, ice machines, commercial kitchen equipment, electrical, plumbing, piped medical gas systems, specialized water systems etc. with very minimal to no assistance/guidance and both within and outside normal operating procedures.
  • Performs other routine to complex general maintenance functions in the areas of grounds maintenance, carpentry, painting, and snow removal.
  • Manage response and repairs associated with emergencies such as leaks, floods, water outages, fires, power outages, equipment failures, etc.
  • Respond to building occupant requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Performs zone maintenance rounding.
  • Keeps requesters apprised of the status of corrective actions and service requests.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance and performs equipment safety checks.
  • Inspects and repairs fire doors, hardware, firewalls and smoke partitions.
  • Reads blueprints and maintenance manuals to gain knowledge needed to complete assignments.
