Mennonite Village is seeking a Maintenance Technician III, an experienced and highly skilled trades professional who brings technical expertise, leadership, and a commitment to service excellence to our Facilities team. In this advanced role, you'll perform complex maintenance and repair work across our campus while serving as a technical resource and mentor to other technicians. The Maintenance Technician III is an advanced, highly skilled maintenance professional responsible for complex troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and limited construction activities across all Mennonite Village facilities. This role requires strong expertise in multiple skilled trades-including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and carpentry-and a solid working knowledge of Fire & Life Safety systems. You'll also provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support to Maintenance Technicians I and II, helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive maintenance experience (healthcare, senior living, or institutional settings preferred)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in at least two skilled trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of Fire & Life Safety systems and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Valid Oregon driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., work at heights, in confined spaces, and safely operate tools and equipment
  • Willingness to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and structural systems
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more skilled trades and support complex system repairs and installations
  • Inspect, test, and maintain Fire & Life Safety systems in compliance with NFPA, OSHA, Oregon State regulations, and organizational standards
  • Complete and document work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, and inspections accurately in the CMMS
  • Assist with renovation, repair, and small construction projects and coordinate work with vendors and contractors
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, and technical manuals
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training support to junior maintenance team members
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation and respond calmly and effectively to emergency maintenance situations
  • Deliver courteous, professional, and compassionate service to residents, staff, and leadership
