About The Position

Tosoh SMD, Inc. is a global leader in semiconductor materials, seeking a Maintenance Technician II for their facility in Grove City, OH. This role supports preventive maintenance, training, and troubleshooting/repair of equipment and facility issues. The Technician II will participate in projects, team activities, and contribute to updating maintenance procedures. The primary goal is to maximize equipment uptime and cost efficiency through performing preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance on manufacturing equipment and systems. This includes equipment such as Hydraulic Presses, CNC machines, Rolling Mills, Coordinate-Measuring Machines, Electron Beam Welders, Metal Casters, and Automation Systems. Technicians will utilize knowledge in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, robotic, and programmable ladder logic. They will also be involved in creating and updating preventive maintenance procedures to transition towards a predictive maintenance environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively with different personnel throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Basic understanding of equipment and systems repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to document and effectively communicate the work performed.
  • Advanced Beginner at understanding of tools and test equipment.
  • Ability to problem-solve, troubleshooting skills, and critical thinking.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced Beginner at documenting the work performed and equipment status pass downs.
  • May work from settings requiring ladders, lifts, or from the rooftop and other situations requiring exposure to heights.
  • Frequent bending/twisting required.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as defined by process.

Responsibilities

  • Supports preventive maintenance activities.
  • Trains new technicians and assists with onboarding.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs equipment and facility related issues.
  • Participates in projects and team activities.
  • Provides feedback to support updating maintenance and facility related procedures.
  • Performs preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance associated with manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Maximizes equipment uptime and cost efficiency.
  • Utilizes knowledge/experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, robotic, and programable ladder logic.
  • Creates, updates, and maintains preventive maintenance (PM) procedures.
  • Works on assigned equipment and preventive maintenance related work orders.
  • Demonstrates flexibility of schedule when pursuing training opportunities.
  • Understands and adheres to all safety requirements.
  • Communicates identified risks to leadership and assists in resolution.
  • Completes all 5S standards to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Contributes to culture through alignment with company values and code of conduct.
