About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER HQ MFGSC division is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician II-2nd Shift at our Duncan, SC facility! The core hours are Monday - Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. The hourly rate for this position is $28.00 per hour, which includes a $1.25 shift differential per hour. The salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates who currently reside within 50 miles of the Duncan, SC facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) from an accredited institution.
  • Associates degree with a technical focus AND 3 years of related industry experience; OR 5 years of related industry experience.
  • Must understand how to use precision gauging instruments.
  • Ability to proactively work with other team members under limited supervision.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand and/or walk for an entire eight – twelve hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow technical standards and maintenance procedures.
  • Knowledge of operating lift truck, material handling equipment, man lifts and hand tools.
  • Ability to work daily with lubricants and solvents.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and drawings.
  • Ability to run machines with multiple settings or specificiations.
  • Must understand electrical, mecanical, fluid power and control systems, analyze problems, and perform repairs.
  • Must have a valid Driver's license and be able to travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in machining, metal working and welding.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mid-to-experience level break-fix & preventative maintenance. This includes but is not limited to: observing devices in operation to locating root cause of problem; dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; examining parts to detect imperfections; adjustment of functional parts of devices and control instruments; repair and/or replacement of defective parts; testing of device to observe performance; and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems; reconditioning and repairing machine tools. Utilizes predictive maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data.
  • Construct and alter physical facilities to accommodate changes or improvements.
  • Identify and source parts and supplies.
  • Repair items as necessary.
  • Independently perform maintenance per industry standards.
  • May be required to setup and operate multiple machining operations including but not limited to: portable drill press, grinder, 535 pipe threading machine and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. May perform welding tasks.
  • Drive and participate in continuous improvement activities - processes, results and cost savings.
  • Comply with 5S+ standards.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze control systems to resolve software/ hardware and configuration problems.
  • Provide assistance to other technicians and leadership and to small teams. Perform more advanced functions as a part of training and development.
  • Complete on the job and technical self-study programs for career development
  • Perform electrical power work in accordance with MESH 8.0 LOTO procedures. Run conduit, pull wire and cable, install fixtures and perform testing and diagnostics.
  • Follow all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
  • Will be expected to work on toilets, sinks and other plumbing issues in the facility.
  • Other duties as assigned.
