About The Position

Dal-Tile, a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries, is the largest manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join our team. This role involves making adjustments to machines and equipment for proper operation, performing complex mechanical duties, and electrical trade functions in installation, maintenance, and repair within a manufacturing environment. The position requires troubleshooting PLC's, designing and redesigning programs and software, computer setup, and maintaining electrical systems. The technician will also be responsible for process improvement, using electrician's tools, and ensuring a safe and organized work area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical code.
  • 3 or more years of industrial electro-mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office).

Nice To Haves

  • Formal PLC training preferred.
  • Associate degree in industrial electronics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controller) using a hand-held device or laptop.
  • Design and redesign programs and software (PLCs, operator panels, etc.).
  • Format hard drives and install applications to computers (Computer Setup).
  • Install, maintain, or repair equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electrical energy in a manufacturing environment.
  • Locate and diagnose trouble in electrical systems or equipment using blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
  • Perform standard computations related to load requirements of wiring and/or electrical equipment.
  • Apply basic knowledge of Serial port communication systems, VFD’s (Variable Frequency Drives), and process control instrumentation devices (thermocouples, pressure switches, etc.).
  • Apply basic knowledge of Servomotors and drive units.
  • Continuously review their respective area for ideas and thoughts that will drive productivity and reduce costs within the organization and be able to professionally speak to their solution for improvement.
  • Execute process improvement plans.
  • Use a variety of electrician’s tools including measuring and testing instruments.
  • Inform supervisor of operational status of equipment and notify of any problem areas.
  • Keep work area safe, clean, and organized.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
