About The Position

RGNext employees execute and report on theater and strategic offensive and defensive ballistic missile testing and support space situational awareness operations and experiments, using a wide array of highly sophisticated radar, telemetry and optical sensors to meet the needs of our nation in defending the United States and its interests. This overseas position is located on Roi-Namur on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. It is an unaccompanied position (no family accommodations or pets). Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or technical school or military training in related field, or experience in lieu of education.
  • Two (2) or more years of mechanical/electrical field support experience working with electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with maintenance and repairs.
  • Willingness and physical ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs. independently.
  • Willingness and physical ability to work at heights up to 150 feet.
  • Ability to effectively perform maintenance, repairs and replacement of complex mechanical systems, gear boxes, large brake systems and/or pumps and motors.
  • Ability to effectively use standard mechanical tools.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to communicate with suppliers, perform material estimating, write technical specifications, read and approve submittments and finalize as-built drawings.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Garrison - Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands, Roi-Namur.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a USAG-KA driver’s license.
  • General computer literacy using Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school completion with an electrical and/or mechanical background.
  • Electro-mechanical systems and Motor Generator (MG) experience
  • Machining experience using vertical mill and/or lathe.
  • Familiarity with CAD.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance for the a large radar antenna that has UHF and VHF bands.
  • Assist with operations, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, repair and modification of radar components.
  • Maintain shop equipment i.e. (drill press, lathe, sandblaster, plasma table, etc.)
  • Maintain operational equipment i.e. (electric motors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, bearings, coax/waveguide components, etc.)
  • Maintain current spare parts inventory and procure parts as required.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance performed.
  • Assist with operations, maintenance, repair, and modification of radar components.
  • Comply with all applicable procedures for storing and disposing of hazardous waste.
  • Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
  • Support day-to-day operations to meet radar mission requirements.
  • Perform occasional shift work to support operational tasking.
  • Works with minimal supervision.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
