About The Position

Our Maintenance Technician II is responsible for assisting the GM of Facilities and Maintenance Team in the operation of the facility by performing advanced maintenance and repair work requiring significant technical knowledge and independent judgement while serving as a technical resource, mentoring newer technicians, and assisting in improving maintenance processes in a timely, safe, and fiscally responsible manner and following established procedures.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Must pass a Federal and State criminal history background check.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma/GED.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of maintenance experience.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Comfortable with heights.
  • Willing and able to step over 28-inch-tall rails.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with fire extinguisher training is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail!
  • Desire and ability to work as a member of a team, train new maintenance technicians, and can be relied upon for after-hours calls/repairs.
  • Recommend capital repairs and improve upon preventative maintenance programs.
  • Compliance with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
  • Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers.
  • Strong work ethics - be accountable and proactive.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace in a high production environment!
  • Strong experience with inspection, predictive and preventive maintenance, planning, execution, root cause failure analysis and improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for general building upkeep and grounds maintenance.
  • In partnership with the Maintenance Team, ensure that the facility is clean, organized, and maintained according to company policy and procedures.
  • Works with minimal supervision and prioritizes workload independently with the ability to resolve issues and complete repairs with minimal supervisor support.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and building systems and perform root cause failure analysis.
  • Execute assigned work orders while coordinating multiple assignments involving facilities systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs accurately and on time following instruction and utilizing operations manuals.
  • Diagnose equipment and system failures with minimal to no supervisor assistance.
  • Perform basic equipment repair, facility maintenance and modifications, carpentry and drywall repairs, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and facility design modifications and repairs as assigned.
  • Responsible for collecting and properly disposing of trash, debris, and leftover materials after project completion to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Coordinate with management regarding repairs and projects and communicate repair status and maintenance needs effectively.
  • Lead safety initiatives, identify hazards, advise employees of workplace safety precautions, and consistently follow safety procedures, ensuring compliance with company policy.
  • Evaluate equipment condition and recommend repair or replacement as needed for optimal function.
  • Assist with inventory and spare parts management.
  • Optimize preventative maintenance schedule, making sure work is documented accurately, and identify improvements to increase equipment reliability.
  • Perform other duties such as taking out municipal trash/recycling.
  • Perform facility related tasks specific to lab, irrigation and cultivation equipment.
  • Periodically verify fire extinguishers and other safety equipment that are within approved dates and replace units when needed.
  • Identify process improvements that reduce downtime or maintenance costs.
  • All other duties as necessary.
