The ideal candidate will have the ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings. You should have good electrical and mechanical ability and knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics. You should understand the principals and theories of mechanical/electrical repair and maintenance techniques as well as those of carpentry, electrical, and plumbing. Demonstrate effective communication skills in both verbal and written formats. Possess strong problem-solving abilities, along with critical thinking skills, and excel in collaborating with others in a team-oriented environment. This position is onsite.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) with 3 years of practical experience OR graduate of a technical school with 1 year of experience.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings.
  • Good electrical and mechanical ability and knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Understanding of the principals and theories of mechanical/electrical repair and maintenance techniques as well as those of carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Effective communication skills in both verbal and written formats.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, along with critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with others in a team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • PC skills to include at minimum Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong basic skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Background in environmental or occupational skills highly desired.
  • Bilingual a plus
  • Knowledge of OSHA/EPA and other relevant regulations and standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work on standard tasks and deliver high quality results with limited supervision.
  • Risk analysis and prevention methods.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Timely record maintenance and excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair production and building support equipment (including automated, pneumatic and hydraulic machinery).
  • Perform various types of facility maintenance to include basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Implement preventive maintenance and repair procedures to expedite timely repairs and reduce lost production time.
  • Maintain maintenance documentation for the equipment.
  • Use of welders, acetylene torches and brazing or soldering equipment.
  • Drive the company’s box-truck between buildings when necessary.
  • Maintain Alene standards of performance and comply with housekeeping, safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related tasks as directed.
