Maintenance Tech II, Trails and Streams Crew
About The Position
The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join our Grounds Trails and Streams Crew located in West Chicago, IL. This role is a great opportunity to join a skilled, supportive team dedicated to high-quality work and the larger mission of the forest preserve. This position focuses on the installation, maintenance and repair of landscape features throughout the district's preserves, including planting, vegetation management, trailside landscaping, and the upkeep of natural areas. Additional responsibilities may include bench construction, finishing, and maintenance.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire.
- 1-3 years of related experience in maintenance duties and operation of machinery and equipment.
- Valid Driver's License in good standing.
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required within (6) months in good standing.
- IL Department of Agriculture Pesticide Operator's License within (6) months of employment.
- Experience in trail construction, renovations, and maintenance.
- Experience in installation, maintenance, and monitoring of various types of drainage structures.
Nice To Haves
- Current IL Dept. of Agriculture Pesticide Operator's License preferred.
