About The Position

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the efficient coordination and implementation of all maintenance work related to the set-up and operation of all equipment, fixtures and facilities at assigned retail stores or retail support sites. This role implements strategies to achieve the goals for the organization and complete maintenance work at assigned Retail Stores or retail support sites, sustaining policies, procedures and programs. Typically works on projects and tasks that span 3 - 12 months.

Requirements

  • Two years of college education or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 1 year experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Work varied schedule and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and manages own work to reliably complete routine job responsibilities and special assignments.
  • Serves as a team member or subject matter expert on formal or department projects.
  • Engages in change affecting her/him, communicating appropriately with supervisor and following through on learning, skill building, and practice necessary to adapt to change.
  • Uses skills to solve problems of routine complexity; able to identify root cause, interpret data, and resolve issues.
  • Works in compliance with established procedures.
  • Serves as an ambassador for Goodwill in the wider community.
  • Participates in volunteer opportunities as schedules and interest permit.
  • Performs repairs needed at assigned sites within developed skill set.
  • Uses hand tools: carpenters', electricians', plumbers' tools and other maintenance equipment as required.
  • Reads blueprints, manuals and building codes to gain better understanding of the work necessary to complete the job.
  • Analyzes current facilities conditions at assigned sites to ensure that Goodwill Facilities are being properly maintained and that customers have a safe environment.
  • Communicates with Supervisor and Systems Coordinator any issues noted in the field.
  • Utilizes Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in accordance with Goodwill Industries of SE WI CMMS processes.
  • Provides Facilities related guidance to the staff at each assigned site.
  • Takes pride and ownership to properly report any issue that make reflect negatively on Retail or Goodwill.
  • Completes assigned work orders and PM's.
  • Proactively develops any additional work orders that are needed.
  • Conducts and documents monthly building site inspections and communication of results.
  • Audits compliance to store LP Standards (Alarm tests, employee Shop Policy enforcement, equipment, etc.).
  • Reconciles expense records and reports as required.
  • Submits and organizes monthly receipts on a deadline.
  • Provides specified documentation to Store Management for cost center detail.
  • Completes other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
