Requirements

Must have at least five years of hands-on experience
Must be able to operate hand and power tools safely.
Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Post-secondary technical training preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations, elevators and high rise building systems preferred.
Hoisting License preferred.
High comfort level with older adults ranging in age from approximately 62 to 102 years of age.

Responsibilities

Respond to work orders and perform general mechanical tasks, including electrical, plumbing, heating, appliance repairs, groundskeeping and snow and ice removals.
Execute preventive maintenance and routine engineering checks in mechanical and boiler rooms.
Prepare vacant apartments for new residents.
Perform unit inspections in tandem with Resident Service Teams to ensure building/unit integrity, safety, and compliance.
Maintain an inventory management system for all equipment and tools.
Responsible for pest control inspection and follow-up treatment.
Must be available to respond when assigned to evening, weekend, and holiday emergency coverage.
Report any accident, injury, or safety concerns to the Director of Facilities/Executive Director (ED) and complete incident reports immediately.
May rotate as building mechanic to other 2Life buildings.
