About The Position

This position is for a multi-skilled electrical and mechanical technician with advanced competency in troubleshooting and supporting production equipment. The role requires a highly developed troubleshooting ability, adherence to the National Electrical Code (NFPA 79), and a commitment to electrical safety programs. Mentoring other technicians is a key responsibility. The technician will operate Power Industrial Trucks (PIT) and engage in continuous job-related training in electrical and mechanical technologies and code compliance.

Requirements

  • Advanced electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, reasoning and analytical problem-solving skills
  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent past work experience.
  • Excellent communication, time management, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and self-direct activities
  • Ability to manage vital maintenance functions to maximize corporate assets
  • Project management skills required
  • Must operate/be trained in the use of Power Industrial Trucks (PIT).
  • Trained and has demonstrated compliance for Electrical LOTO requirements per NFPA 70E.
  • Proficient at troubleshooting and problem-solving issues of intermediate complexity in advanced electrical/mechanical systems (PLC, Drives, Servo, HMI, CNC, etc.)
  • Understands basic internal networks and MES equipment integration
  • Understands the National Electrical Code (NFPA 79) to enforce code that applies to all electrical installations
  • Use volt-ohm-millimeters (VOM), vacuum tube volt ohmmeters (VTVM), field effect transistor volt-ohm-millimeters (FETVOM) and digital multimeters to measure DC current, DC voltage, AC current, AC voltage and resistance
  • Competent in; Drive Systems, Lineal Systems, Actuating and Clamping Systems
  • Metal Fabrication; Welding, Manual Mill and Lathe, Sheet Metal Fabrication
  • Understand advanced and complex functions of production CNC machining equipment.
  • Advanced understand of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, schematics, and the operation of all components
  • Competency in root cause analysis utilizing AMS tools

  • Diagnose PLC and HMI programs. (Load, Modify, Create)
  • Troubleshoot, inspect and clean components in motor controllers
  • Be proactive assessing equipment to increase reliability and efficiency
  • Able to lead and facilitate RCCA and equipment reliability sessions
  • Directs and provides leadership/mentoring/coaching of other technicians
