About The Position

Glanbia Performance Nutrition (GPN) is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its 3rd Shift operations in Aurora, IL. GPN is a global nutrition company with a portfolio of well-known brands in the performance and lifestyle nutrition sectors. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment. The Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of maintenance tasks to maximize production efficiencies and minimize downtime, while upholding strict safety and quality standards. The position requires a commitment to working 40+ hours per week, which may include weekends, holidays, overtime, and participation in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years industrial maintenance experience
  • High school diploma or vocational school equivalent
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics
  • Experience using electrical test equipment
  • Knowledge of basic machine functions and operating sequences
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • English required
  • Must supply own hand tools
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Experience operating Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT)

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish preferred
  • CMMS experience preferred
  • Technician-level formal education
  • Training in electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics
  • Basic PLC and drive training
  • Food processing or dry powder filling experience
  • Knowledge of NEC, UL508A, and NFPA 79
  • Root Cause Analysis and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with AC/DC motor PMs, wiring, and troubleshooting
  • Servo drive and motion control experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, and electrical/electronic testing devices.
  • Troubleshoot and repair machines such as blenders, scales, fillers, cappers, check weighers, palletizers, stretch wrappers, AC/DC motors, and drives.
  • Complete PMs and work orders in the CMMS system (SAP preferred).
  • Conduct equipment inspections and recommend corrective actions.
  • Serve as first responder to equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with production teams to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
  • Mentor maintenance trainees and operators.
  • Assist in ordering replacement parts through the Parts Clerk.
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives and Daily Management systems.
  • Self-train on and operate production equipment as needed.
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions.
  • Follow LOTO, Arc Flash, and PPE requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and GMP/HACCP standards.
