Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three (1-3) years related experience and/or training in equipment maintenance in a manufacturing setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess high mechanical ability.
  • Committed to ensuring the achievement of continuous improvement within area of expertise, as well as areas of business in order to remain at the forefront of meeting Company objectives, thus proactively satisfying customers.
  • This position mandates that all required safety classes, trainings, and certifications be completed and maintained within the specific position/department.
  • Is aware of relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute to the achievement of the quality objectives.
  • Must be aware of and comply with related IATF/ISO procedures, as applicable.
  • Must meet qualitative and quantitative standards for the position and department.
  • Understand and carry out routine written and oral instructions and work.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs machinery, equipment, and physical structures.
  • Performs preventative maintenance procedures as directed.
  • Assembles, installs, or repairs wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
  • Inspects, operates, and tests machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Repairs/replaces defective equipment parts, using hand tools, power tools, and reassembles equipment.
  • Diagnoses mechanical problems and determines how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Performs basic mechanical repairs and ensures work is completed according to assigned schedules.
  • Completes stock requisitions to maintain maintenance supply inventories.
  • Completes all job assignments in an expedient manner, considering personal and coworker safety.
  • Assists Maintenance Department members in the repair of manufacturing equipment.
  • Assists in the removal of snow.
  • Is trained and participates as a member of Company’s Fire Brigade Team.
