About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, robotics, automation, and facility systems. This role requires strong mechanical ability, with an important focus on hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will be comfortable reading and interpreting hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical schematics, including symbols, diagrams, wiring layouts, and technical documentation. A strong understanding of electrical components, circuits, sensors, motors, controls, and hydraulic systems is essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years of industrial maintenance experience required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability.
  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulic systems and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and understand hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical symbols and schematics.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic systems.
  • Ability to use electrical testing equipment and other diagnostic tools.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret operating instructions, maintenance manuals, procedure manuals, diagrams, and technical documents.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to obtain forklift and aerial lift certification.
  • Ability and willingness to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • injection molding maintenance experience strongly preferred.
  • Completion of a maintenance training program may be considered in place of direct experience.
  • Experience working with hydraulics, electrical systems, robotics, automation, or manufacturing equipment is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in plastics, injection molding, manufacturing, or a related technical environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, robotics, automation, and related systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic equipment issues.
  • Read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical schematics, including symbols, diagrams, wiring layouts, and technical manuals.
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits, sensors, motors, controls, relays, switches, and related components.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, fittings, pressure issues, flow issues, and leaks.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules.
  • Complete assigned work orders using a computerized preventive maintenance system.
  • Assist with mold changes on injection molding machines.
  • Operate shop equipment, including milling machines, band saws, drill presses, lathes, welders, concrete drills, torches, electrical testers, and other maintenance tools.
  • Use a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools.
  • Operate overhead cranes in accordance with OSHA and company safety requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain facility services, including water, compressed air, and electrical supply.
  • Identify and communicate the need for spare or replacement parts.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures, including lockout/tagout, fall protection, PPE, and other company safety standards.
  • Support housekeeping, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement efforts throughout the facility.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.
