About The Position

Croda is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for providing maintenance engineering skills in a seed coating environment. This role involves repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining site equipment and manufacturing assets, optimizing equipment availability, and minimizing production downtime. The position requires effective communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The role also involves ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, maintaining housekeeping, and potentially coaching less experienced employees.

Requirements

Minimum one year of production experience
Basic Math (Ability to calculate percentages and use metric system)
Forklift and pallet jack certified/experienced
Must be able to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and contractors to safely perform job duties and complete required documentation.
To be able to read drawings and record and communicate data accurately in paper and computer systems.
To be able to work on own initiative or in a team and interact effectively with others.
Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success
To be able to carry out additional skills outside of the core trade as required by the business.
Strong organization skills

The role will predominately involve routine and standard tasks with infrequent supervision.
The role requires occasional and limited influence.
This role carries no line management responsibilities, but the post holder will be expected to work both as part of a small team and on their own depending on the tasks being performed.
The person may be expected to coach and advise less experienced employees and contractors e.g., apprentices.

Responsibilities

Provide technical skills to repair, troubleshoot, and maintain site equipment and manufacturing assets.
Provide plant and process problem solving skills within area of expertise to optimize manufacturing equipment availability and keep production downtime to a minimum.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with internal customers to ensure that work is implemented in a safe and timely manner.
Attend site meetings, risk assessment studies and review meetings as required.
Use computer systems for planned and reactive maintenance activities.
Safely carry out maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and small projects in a healthy and environmentally acceptable manner.
Identify materials and equipment required to rectify faults and breakdowns.
Identify risk potential and problems and carry out job risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with the relative legislative and site codes and standards within the scope of the role and be accountable for their own Health and Safety and those around them who could be affected by their actions.
Maintain a high level of housekeeping in the workshops and workplace.
Maintains a safe work environment by using the protective equipment to prevent personal injury to themselves or to others working nearby.
Use ISO Work Instruction for processes or procedures that are performed.
Report unsafe conditions or situations to supervisor immediately.
Supports other departments as needed.
