About The Position

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for ensuring production lines and other equipment are maintained and able to run at all times. This role assists in developing and prioritizing work orders, completing work order requests, and supporting workplace organization and production efficiency programs. The technician also supports preventative maintenance processes, assists in line commissioning, and participates in plant projects as needed. The role requires a self-directed and motivated individual capable of multitasking in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Computer skills to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • Will meet qualification and certification requirements established by TimberTech's Training Resources and Knowledge (TRAK) program
  • Stick and wire welding experience required
  • Forklift experience required
  • Ability to show constant learning and improvement in working with and troubleshooting: Electrical, Electronic, Motor Controller Drives, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings or an approved plan to learn how to read and understand drawings
  • Strong decision making, analytical skills and proven ability to work cross-functionally
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Success in planning, executing and managing projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate upward and downward to a wide range of audiences
  • Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced education and/or related-certification(s)
  • Structural welding certification
  • Ability to complete TT Forklift Certification program
  • Strong background in manufacturing systems in dynamic fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of extrusion process, twin screw setup, blending system
  • Knowledge of PLC Logic technology

Responsibilities

  • Ensures production lines and other equipment are maintained and able to run at all times.
  • Assists in developing and prioritizing work orders with Maintenance Manager, Production Supervision and Line Leads.
  • Completes work order requests as defined by Maintenance Manager, Productions Management/Supervision, and/or Operators.
  • Supports workplace organization programs (6S) and production efficiency programs (TPM).
  • Assists, coaches, and trains operators in daily preventative maintenance (CIL) checks.
  • Supports and assists preventative maintenance process on the shift.
  • Contributes and assists in line commissioning after maintenance/process events.
  • Assists and participates with other plant projects as needed.
  • Operates in a manner that provides value to the team.
  • Performs additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervision/management.
