About The Position

Performs skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and construction of district buildings and equipment. This role involves a variety of tasks across multiple building systems and trades, including repairing and maintaining building components, constructing or modifying equipment and facilities, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Requirements

Knowledge of tools, materials, and methods used in skilled trades
Ability to interpret drawings and follow instructions
Strong understanding of health, safety, and building codes
Ability to work independently, estimate labor/materials, and meet deadlines
Effective communication skills and basic recordkeeping
Requires speech, vision, and hearing capabilities
Work involves both indoor and occasional outdoor activity
Stand & move for extended periods; lift, push, pull, carry, etc. up to 50 lbs. repetitively; kneel, crouch, sit, etc.
Use technology, including computers, interactive whiteboards, audio-visual equipment, etc.
Adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics and follow all board and school policies
High School diploma, G.E.D. certificate, or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law
Two years of journey-level experience in one or more trades (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, etc.)

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repair tasks across multiple building systems and trades
Repair and maintain building components such as windows, doors, and roofs
Construct, rebuild, and modify district equipment and facilities as assigned
Safely operate saws, drill presses, and other power/hand tools
Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, codes, and regulations
Maintain accurate records of work completed, labor, and materials used
Pick up and deliver materials and equipment using district vehicles
Demonstrate punctuality, professionalism, appropriate appearance, and consistent, reliable attendance
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee
