About The Position

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Maintenance Technician I, for the Stoneridge Mountain Resort, Canmore, Alberta. The technician is responsible for participating in the preventative maintenance program, handling guest service requests, and other work orders as assigned. The role requires performing duties in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience (1+ years) in hotel building systems or a hospitality related maintenance field preferred.
  • Must be able to stand 5 hours per day. Sitting and bending, squatting and other motion are required the rest of the working day.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance.
  • Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stoop.

Responsibilities

  • Handle routine maintenance in public spaces, guest units, pool and grounds.
  • Communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Understand and execute the room preventative maintenance program.
  • Maintain the overall appearance of rooms, including replacing fixtures and touch-up painting.
  • Troubleshoot room heating/ventilation/air conditioning systems.
  • Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Use power and hand tools regularly in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Perform surface preparation, painting, drywall and wood trim repair, and light bulb and A/C filter replacement. Clean-up painting or repair areas professionally.
  • Clean tools & equipment and return them to their appropriate storage areas. Ensure all materials and equipment are stored properly.
  • Perform routine pool operations.
  • Maintain operating equipment in working condition by performing routine equipment checks and repairs.
  • Maintain and assist in the cleanliness of individual work areas.
  • Actively engage and promote safety and safe work practices, interdepartmentally and hotel wide.
  • Report any hazards or injuries in the department and take immediate action to correct.
  • Contribute to hotels preparedness during fire emergencies by participating in the hotel fire team.
  • Handle master keys in accordance with Company’s standards for the overall safety and security of the hotel.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and perform repairs on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, and other guest room items.
  • Display adequate computer skills; program TV's and door locks, repair and replace door locks.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and always thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Adhere to quality expectations and standards.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
