About The Position

The Maintenance Technician I is a hands-on role requiring strong technical and mechanical acumen, along with high learning agility. This position involves diagnosing and maintaining manufacturing equipment, developing preventive maintenance plans, and collaborating on facility expansions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical education or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • 1+ years experience in installing and maintaining plant floor mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Basic troubleshooting and analytical skills, with a willingness to learn and improve.
  • Experience with industrial equipment like steam generators and air compressors.
  • Knowledge of industrial components and instrumentation.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents such as P&ID's and schematics.
  • Ability to complete projects on time with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with general supervision.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Engage hands-on with equipment and materials across three facilities, involving activities such as climbing ladders, walking, bending, scooping, kneeling, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).
  • Adherence to all company safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment including ladder safety, ergonomic practices, and proper use of PPE.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, fermentation, or chemical product operations is highly desirable.
  • Forklift Operator Certification preferred; on-site training available.
  • May be exposed to airborne particles and chemicals used in fermentation production facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair manufacturing equipment, including bioreactors, centrifuges, refrigeration equipment, and more.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical equipment issues.
  • Implement repairs with minimal production disruption.
  • Develop and follow a preventive maintenance schedule using computerized software.
  • Integrate predictive and preventive technologies to reduce costs.
  • Document all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Establish and maintain a spare parts inventory.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Safety and Quality Control (QC) Departments to assure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Responsible for compliance with maintaining facility cleanliness, post maintenance cleaning, and preventative maintenance.
  • Accountable for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
