About The Position

Liberty Military Housing is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician I for the Village at Serra Mesa community. This role is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on residential properties, operating building systems and equipment to meet quality standards, and ensuring resident satisfaction. The position requires effective communication, safe work practices, and a commitment to providing exemplary service.

Requirements

One or more years of related maintenance experience preferred.
Beginning level understanding or experience in two or more basic trades: electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, carpet care, appliance repair.
Working knowledge of appliances.
Competent skills in operating small hand and electrical tools, basic electrical, carpentry, painting, and small machinery repair.
Effective communication and interaction skills with co-workers, managers, vendors, and residents.
Basic computer skills (able to operate mobile device, PC).
Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company or personal vehicle or electrical cart.
Availability for regular on-call work assignments, emergency calls, scheduled off-hours, and emergency overtime.
Ability to arrive at the property for service requests within 60 minutes.
Ability to travel to other regional locations for work, training, meetings, and other work-related activities.
Ability to lift/carry supplies or equipment up to 65 lbs independently.
Ability to perform frequent reaching, stooping, bending, and kneeling.
Ability to perform extensive walking and standing.
Ability to climb up and down stairs/ladders.
Willingness to work in indoor and outdoor environments, in all weather conditions, and potentially hazardous conditions.
Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting productivity standards.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical, plumbing, painting, appliance repair, and HVAC systems.
Apply basic skills in at least two trades such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, carpet care, or appliance repair.
Conduct routine service repairs and preventative maintenance on homes, common areas, grounds, and the community.
Complete resident-requested repairs within 24 hours.
Complete all assigned maintenance work on vacant homes according to LMH standards.
Perform on-call service requests and respond to emergency calls.
Participate in routine inspections, including QC, move-in, preventative maintenance, machinery, and appliance inspections.
Perform general maintenance and cleaning of common areas, maintenance shop, trash removal, and snow removal (if applicable).
Report any maintenance concerns for homes, community, or common areas to the supervisor.
Maintain and update all assigned service requests using Yardi Mobile until completion.
Demonstrate the safe use of standard hand and power tools, equipment, and machinery.
Comply with OSHA safety regulations, local health, safety, and environmental laws, and LMH Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.
Understand and follow safe work practices for all trades, including Lockout Tag-out, Confined Space Entry, use of hazardous chemicals, Personal Protective Equipment, Ladder Safety, and working from Elevated Surfaces.
Operate a company or personal vehicle for work purposes.
