Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production equipment and facilities essential for the optimal operation of the company.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to safely operate and obtain certification to operate a fork truck.
  • Ability to safely operate an overhead crane.
  • Strong computer data entry skills.
  • Solid problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and diagrams.
  • Ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics and diagrams.
  • Has an understanding of HVAC systems.
  • Ability to contribute and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness to ensure first quality of work.
  • Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in the course of work.
  • Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs as well as scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to the department supervisor.
  • Install and repair a wide variety of electrical equipment.
  • Maintains and repairs facility plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches and fuses.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
