About The Position

We're actively seeking a Maintenance Technician I - HPP responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing high-pressure processing (HPP) equipment and related production systems to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience with hydraulics and automated equipment, and the ability to work collaboratively across maintenance and production teams.

Requirements

  • Completion of trade school courses or minimal experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: HPP equipment maintenance, industrial maintenance, electro-mechanical maintenance, hydraulic systems or automated equipment maintenance
  • Capable of completing routine preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting on HPP and electro-mechanical equipment with instructions and supervision
  • Fully proficient with, and capable of operating power and hand tools
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the facility
  • Possess problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload with demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in temperatures as low as -20 Fahrenheit/-25 Celsius in cold storage sites or up to 100 Fahrenheit/37 Celsius in dry storage sites while wearing company provided personal protective equipment and freezer gear
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs./23 kgs.; weight may be more dependent upon facility
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends if needed
  • Some locations require being comfortable with various noise levels, at times, can be loud
  • Some locations require demonstrated knowledge and practice of Working at Height

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks and minor repairs on HPP equipment and associated mechanical assets impacting the facility's operation under instruction and close supervision.
  • At automated sites, perform basic preventative maintenance tasks on PLCs, VFDs, proximity switches, photoelectric sensors, pressure switches, push buttons, and associated testing equipment under instruction and close supervision.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks and troubleshooting on hydraulic systems, conveyors, case sealing machines, and robotic unloading systems under instruction and close supervision.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks on electrical and electro-mechanical systems, including 3-phase 480V equipment, motors, and related components under instruction and close supervision.
  • Operate power tools, cutting torch, and other welding apparatus to cut or join metal parts.
  • Utilize onsite motorized lift and rental equipment as needed while operating, inspecting, calibrating, and maintaining equipment.
