This role combines the responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician and a Grounds Technician at Providence Glen Apartments in Columbus, OH. The Maintenance Technician role involves keeping apartment communities safe, welcoming, and in top condition, performing various repairs and handling apartment turnovers. The Grounds Technician role focuses on maintaining the beauty and functionality of the community's outdoor spaces, including landscaping, groundskeeping, and minor repairs. Scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, with an on-call rotation for the Maintenance Technician. Competitive pay is offered for both roles: Maintenance Tech: $20-25 per hour and Grounds Tech: $18-22 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

1 year of experience in multi-family residential maintenance
Experienced Turnover Technician – versed in all aspects of apartment turns and servicing
Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair, lighting, and grounds
Strong customer service skills with a cheerful outlook when assisting residents
Ability to work independently while staying efficient and thorough
Basic computer and smartphone skills
Must have basic hand tools, valid driver’s license, reliable truck/van, and auto-insurance
Willing to complete a drug and background check if offered the position
1 year of experience in groundskeeping or property maintenance
Landscaping experience (planting, fertilizing, watering trees, grass, flowers, shrubs)
The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Strong customer service and communication skills
Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
The ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
Willingness to complete a background and drug screening if offered the role
Able to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds

Responsibilities

Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, appliance repair, lighting, locks/keys, pool care, and groundskeeping tasks
Handle apartment turnovers, preparing homes for new residents
Complete work orders quickly and with high-quality results
Address emergencies as situations arise or while on-call
Maintain property appearance with trash pickup, power washing, light grounds care, snow removal assistance, and minor repairs (painting, pool area upkeep, furniture removal)
Care for landscaping by planting, fertilizing, and watering trees, flowers, and shrubs
Oversee pet area upkeep and restock supplies at dog stations
Assist residents with outdoor concerns and report maintenance issues
Complete light to moderate work orders and maintain pool chemical levels
After-hours only required as needed for emergencies
