About The Position

Installs, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs building/facilities machinery, equipment, physical structures, and utilities systems by performing the following duties. The team member frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally required to climb or balance. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Technical Field and 2 years experience in facilities/plant maintenance or a minimum of 5 years maintenance experience in a facilities/plant environment.
  • Must have strong knowledge of Utility, Boiler, HVAC, and Air Compressor systems and codes.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds or more.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Boiler and HVAC systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all equipment repairs/changes/modifications with engineering supervision.
  • Perform installation, diagnostics and repairs on facility equipment and systems: Electrical service, wiring, switch gear; Plumbing system; HVAC system; Boiler system; Air Compressor system.
  • Working with facilities drawings and electrical/plumbing schematics, diagnose problem, initiate orders for and install new or repaired parts.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Install and repair electrical components, such as transformers, relays, switches, switch gear, wiring, printed circuit boards, etc. of machinery and equipment.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains water, steam, and pneumatic plumbing systems, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Maintain Boiler system chemical treatment.
  • Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment.
  • Install, program, or repair programmable controllers.
  • Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Assist in developing PMs per OEM and engineering recommendations to maximize production uptime and minimize maintenance costs.
  • Performs PM work.
  • Work proactively and implement improvements necessary to eliminate recurring equipment problems.
  • Train as First Responder and respond for medical emergencies and/or chemical spills.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
