About The Position

This position is responsible for performing routine and non-routine types of preventive and ongoing maintenance, including repairs in the areas of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or machine servicing. The company operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and this role requires 3rd shift availability from 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM, with Saturdays and Sundays being mandatory. The other three days of the week are flexible.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
One or more years' experience with packaging and food manufacturing equipment and repairs
Solid mechanical, electrical, and repair troubleshooting abilities and skills, including PLC
A service-oriented team member with a high energy, positive and friendly demeanor
Ability to respond to continually changing priorities and coordinate multiple projects
Ability to work safely in a fast-paced, food manufacturing environment
Ability to comply with USDA, FDA, OSHA, AIB and all other regulatory agencies while complying with good manufacturing practices
Computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Strong customer service, interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English

Nice To Haves

Completion of two-year technical degree or equivalent knowledge

Responsibilities

Follow appropriate equipment/tool repair and maintenance guidelines to assure product quality, availability and freshness according to department standards.
Troubleshoot equipment repair issues and consult with outside vendors or internal staff to ensure problem resolution.
Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
Perform equipment and building preventative maintenance following established schedule.
Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area ensuring workspace and storage areas are free from debris and clutter.
Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.
