About The Position
The Maintenance Technician position supports the plant by checking, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment. This position has a six month probationary period to gain the knowledge and complete the skills check list to attain top out.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Five or more years’ experience in an industrial environment as a maintenance employee performing Preventive (planned) and Corrective (unplanned) Maintenance
- Knowledge of and experience working in all the following areas: Mechanical - Power Transmission – chains, belts, gearboxes, bearings, brakes, couplings, etc.
- Knowledge of and experience working in all the following areas: Mechanical - Lubrication – oils, greases, storage and handling, application, etc.
- Knowledge of and experience working in all the following areas: Mechanical - Hydraulics & Pneumatics – valves, actuators, compressors and pumps, piping and tubing, etc.
- Knowledge of and experience working in all the following areas: Electrical - DC Circuits – relays, contactors, power supplies, etc.
- Knowledge of and experience working in all the following areas: Electrical - AC Circuits (120V to 480V) – motors, drives, transformers, etc.
- Knowledge of and experience working in all the following areas: Process Control - Industrial Automation – robotics, PID, machine control, etc.
- Knowledge of and experience working in all the following areas: Process Control - PLCs & Networking – communication, signals, I/O, LANs, etc.
Nice To Haves
- Associates degree or 2+ years of vocational training
- Experience with maintenance technologies such as Vibration Analysis, Thermography, Ultrasound Inspection, Oil Analysis, and Precision Alignment
- Certifications in mechanical/industrial fields (electrician, millwright, welding, etc.)
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT)
Responsibilities
- Perform periodic, scheduled inspections and checks of equipment to determine whether failures or issues are present and determine how soon the corrections/adjustments may need to be made
- Assemble and disassemble machines to make repairs, perform inspections, and replace with new items while maintaining safety and production goals in mind
- Troubleshoot equipment to identify root cause(s) and suggest appropriate follow-up actions
- Identify failed components and determine necessary replacement parts
- Interact directly with production and other plant teammates in a professional manner
- Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to receive work instructions, identify parts that belong to machines, and fully document work performed
- Comply with all safety and environmental protocols relating to operations
- Locate spare parts in the storeroom and follow stock check-out processes
- Maintain a dedicated toolbox and shared maintenance tools and supplies in a organized manner so that materials can be accessed quickly and reliably
